This blend contains Benzophenone-3, which is restricted or prohibited in several markets, and Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, which carries its own concentration limits. Permitted UV filters and maximum use levels differ by jurisdiction. Buyers must confirm the regulatory position for their destination market before formulating or exporting.

About this ingredient

Sun Shield EX-D is a pre-formed dispersion rather than a single filter, combining a UVB absorber (ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate), a UVA absorber (butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane, commonly known as avobenzone) and benzophenone-3, carried in a phospholipid system. Because the filters arrive already dispersed and water compatible, it removes the solubilisation step that raw oil-soluble filters usually demand, and it is added to the water phase at cool-down.

Benefits

  • Broad-spectrum UVA and UVB coverage from one addition
  • Water dispersible - no separate solubilisation step required
  • Added at cool-down, so no heating of the filter phase
  • Phospholipid carrier suits light, non-greasy textures

Applications

  • Sunscreen lotions, creams and gels
  • Daily-wear SPF moisturisers and serums
  • Water-based and light-textured sun care
  • After-sun and post-exposure formulations

Documentation

The COA is generated from our current product data and reports conformance against the standard specification — a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis carrying the measured values, batch number and dates is issued with each consignment. TDS and SDS are shared on request. More on how we document.

About Sun Shield EX-D

Frequently asked

Not covered here? Send the question with your enquiry and we will answer it directly.

01 What is in Sun Shield EX-D?

It is a dispersion, not a single filter. The INCI declaration is Aqua (and) Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate (and) Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane (and) Benzophenone-3 (and) Phospholipids (and) 1,3-Butylene Glycol (and) Phenoxyethanol. Because it is a blend, it carries no single CAS number.

02 How is Sun Shield EX-D added to a formulation?

It is water dispersible and is added to the water phase at cool-down. That is its main advantage over raw oil-soluble filters, which need a separate solubilisation step and a heated oil phase.

03 Can Sun Shield EX-D be used in products for export?

Approved UV filter lists and permitted concentrations differ significantly by market, and this blend contains benzophenone-3, which is restricted or prohibited in several jurisdictions. Confirm the regulatory position for your destination market before formulating for export.

04 Where can I buy Sun Shield EX-D in India?

Arcame Impex supplies Sun Shield EX-D in 25 kg drums from Ankleshwar G.I.D.C., Gujarat, to sun-care and personal-care manufacturers across India. Raise an enquiry for the technical data sheet, current pricing and lead time.
